What a Reset Is
A reset returns your account to its starting balance so you can carry on with the assessment. You’ll need one after a hard breach - a breach that stops you and requires the account to be reset before you can trade again.
At least 12 hours must pass between one reset and the next.
What You Get on Each Package
- Assessment Only ($389/month) - three resets
- Assessment + Development ($789/month) - unlimited resets
- Legacy accounts - unlimited free resets, as part of the original criteria you keep under Clause 2.7 of our Terms & Conditions
- If we moved you into Assessment + Development free of charge - there are no resets on your account. Your $2,000 daily loss limit is a soft breach and won’t end it, but a breach of your $90,000 minimum balance will.
If you’re on a legacy account, note that cancelling and re-registering is treated as a new enrolment, so your legacy criteria wouldn’t carry over.
What Happens After Your Third Reset
This applies only if you’re on Assessment Only. Another breach after your third reset closes the account. To continue, you’d register afresh. A new account is treated as a new enrolment, so nothing carries over - the fees paid on that account aren’t refunded or credited (Clause 2.8A).
How We Look at Resets
Resets aren’t designed as a safety net for aggressive leverage - they’re there as a tool for thoughtful adaptation.
Successful traders in our programme understand that lasting profitability comes from disciplined position sizing and careful risk management, not from taking outsized positions hoping for the occasional large win.
When we evaluate traders, we look at the reasoning behind each reset. What matters isn’t whether you used resets, but how and why.
Were they part of a deliberate learning process, or had they become a substitute for managing risk? Even skilled traders face difficult conditions or a move nobody saw coming - that’s a different thing from sizing up repeatedly and hoping one lands.
- Use resets as learning opportunities to strengthen your risk management
- Write down what led to each reset while it’s fresh
- Consider how your approach might change to handle similar conditions
Our goal is to help you build the kind of trading practices that hold up on the Live Desk.
